Collection and Disposal of Non-Hazardous Waste from Business and Retail Premises
Separately collected streams, bulky waste and non-hazardous production waste, with recovery given priority and with the documents for your annual report.
What does the service include?
If you run retail premises or occupy a production, business or administrative building, separate collection is not a choice: it is an obligation under Article 33(4) of the WMA, in force since 1 January 2013, and it is discharged through a written contract. We work by fraction rather than by volume: the more of the stream that goes to recovery, the less you pay for landfill and the better your annual report looks.

How does the process work?

Survey of the stream
What arises, in what quantities and how often. For retail premises that is usually cardboard packaging, stretch film, bulky waste and residue; for production premises, process fractions as well.

Splitting into fractions
We establish which fractions can go for recovery and which are left for landfill. The breakdown is done before the contract, because it drives both the number of containers and the price.

Contract and containers
We conclude the written contract under Article 33(4) and place containers by fraction according to your floor area and volume.

Scheduled collection
Recurring or one-off. One-off collections are for deep cleans, clearing a warehouse or relocating.

Weighing and documents
The waste is weighed on arrival at the facility. You receive a weighbridge ticket and an acceptance confirmation for each fraction separately, because the report is filed separately too.
Documents, legal compliance and codes
Separate collection at retail and business premises is an obligation under [Article 33(4) of the WMA](/blog/zakon-za-upravlenie-na-otpadatsite-2025/) and is discharged through a written contract, either with a recovery organisation or with a company holding a document under Article 35 of the WMA. Mixed municipal waste stays within the municipal system under Article 19 of the WMA and is covered by the municipal waste charge. Reporting is filed in [NIWMS](/blog/niso-otchetnost-otpadatsi/) by code. Transport is carried out under registration document No. 12-РД-2661-00, issued by RIOSV.
Codes in group 15 01 are used for packaging waste, while those in 20 01 cover the same materials when they are not packaging. The distinction matters for your report and for your obligations towards a recovery organisation.

Questions & Answers
Are we obliged to collect separately?
Yes, if you are retail premises or you occupy a production, business or administrative building. The obligation is under Article 33(4) of the WMA and has been in force since 1 January 2013. It is discharged through a written contract, either with a recovery organisation or with a company holding a document under Article 35 of the WMA.
Do you only take non-hazardous waste?
Under this service, only non-hazardous. If a hazardous fraction appears in the stream, for example contaminated packaging, fluorescent tubes, electronics or toner cartridges, it is taken out separately. Mixing hazardous with non-hazardous waste is prohibited and turns the entire quantity hazardous.
What documents do we receive for the annual report?
A weighbridge ticket and an acceptance confirmation for each fraction separately. The NIWMS report is filed by code, so your documents need to be split by code rather than given as one total weight for the run.
What happens to the mixed municipal waste from our premises?
Mixed municipal waste is collected by the municipal system under Article 19 of the WMA against the municipal waste charge. We take on the streams outside it: the separately collected materials, bulky waste and non-hazardous production waste. If you are not sure what your charge covers, we check the relevant municipality’s ordinance.
